When should the automaker get the final repair order?

Consumers are allowed to file a claim for any defective vehicle as per the Federal Lemon Law. If the consumer can dominate the case, then he is eligible for a replacement of his vehicle. He gets an automobile of a similar value or a complete refund.

However, you cannot just reach out to the manufacturer stating that your car is a lemon. You will first have to prove that it is a lemon. So before you declare the car as a lemon and file a claim, your automobile should have gone through a reasonable number of attempts to repair it without the defect getting resolved. Also, if your vehicle has been in the repair shop for 30 days or more without any sign of fixing the issue, then you can notify the manufacturer and let him know about the defect.

When should the manufacturer be notified about the defect?

You purchase a new vehicle expecting it to run. However, once you start to use it you notice a rattling sound or some issues with the entertainment system. In that case, the first thing that you should do is to take the vehicle to any authorized repair shop. You do not need to file a lemon law claim at this point. However, make sure that you collect any repair records.

If you still notice that the problem persists, go ahead and notify the manufacturer about it. You should submit the claim in writing with a detailed explanation of the defect. Also, mention the repair attempts done in the past. The automaker gets 15 days to solve the issue. Else you can go ahead and file the lemon law claim.

When can you notify the vehicle manufacturer earlier?

If the defect in your vehicle is substantial, you can notify the manufacturer about the issue earlier. The problem could be such that it may cause a life-threatening accident. It could be an issue with the break, defect on the seat belt, or tire malfunctioning. In such a scenario, you do not have to wait for some reasonable attempts. You can go ahead and let your car manufacturer know about the defect right away. The manufacturer has to repair the defect in one go. If he is unable to do so, then you can file the lemon law claim.

Always hire an attorney to get the result faster

As soon as you suspect that you have bought a lemon, go ahead and hire a lawyer. He will ensure that you follow all the right procedures and can file a strong claim under Federal Lemon Law in TX. The lawyer fees need to be paid by the automaker if the claim is successful. So you have nothing to lose.
