When Stories Got Special.

Info

Storytelling is one common way of expressing creativity and art. We have all been influenced by this at one point of time, probably for most of us it has been our childhood. We can still reminisce those Sunday afternoon when our grandparents would tell us one story or when our parents would tell us bedtime stories before our night sleep. Those were some memorable days and stories which are intertwined in our lives and we still love to recall them to feel ecstatic.

As we grow old, we are full of responsibilities and our stories get stacked under a pile of dust. We would probably bring them out when we meet a young one in the family or neighborhood. But, don't you all think that we need it even when we grow old and we need it in our classrooms and our daily lives. It's a way of reconnecting to our childhood and to happiness as well. We cannot blame our surroundings for our lives but we require to change our lives if we think differently.

Every problem that we face is a result of how our lives are going to be. Sometimes, we do not have answers to our problems but we can always try new things to erase it from our lives. Trying new solutions is creativity and that trying requires storytellers like us to go in deep and analyse the issue from a different perspective. We need our children to grow around storytelling because that gives a new dimension to life and a new way to look at our problems.

I am sure that we all love stories either in our movies, books or the new age digital format. It's a coping mechanism for many and a healing therapy for the rest of us. Stories broaden your horizon and storytellers are the medium that engages you with this creativity. You do not always need great storytellers to keep you at the edge of your seat or give you a nail biting experience. What, you need is a good story to relinquish your thirst, satiate your desires and take you to a whole new world where you can freely express yourself and think from a new perspective.

P.S - Every story may not be a bestseller but every story can teach you an important life lesson.

Once again, this is my interpretation on the New Guide " Why Storytelling is needed in a Classroom" by Lakshya Datta published today.
