"How you can call yourself a writer if you don't have a published book yet? "
This is an insulting question to an aspiring writer, do you agree? Or maybe it's just for me. Real talk. You can be a writer without a published book, but you can't publish a book if you're not a writer.
So, as an aspiring writer, for over a decade now, I have kept a lot of journals in my drawers. Saved a lot of drafts, but have never published a story. I call myself a WRITER because, I write. I write what I cannot say, I write what's on my mind and I write because that's why I want. Being able to write what you really want to, makes me happy already. Publishing it and seeing people how much they love your work is just a bonus.
Whenever I write, I always consider my feelings. What I actually feel in that moment, who I want to read this and how can I execute it. I don't need the world to know that I am writing. I will write and write until the ink of my pen run out. I will write until I reach the limit of word count.
So, if you are like me who is not a writer who publish a book, continue what you're doing, dear. You'll never know when the opportunity will knock and tomorrow your book can be sold out! Keep dreaming.
