You Are My Blue Rose

Info

The meaning of the blue rose:

Given its non-existence, and the longing for its presence in the world of flora, the blue rose symbolizes unattainableness. It represents something which is destined to remain as a dream, and as a never-to-be-fulfilled wish.

This started off as you and me, two separate humans in a world where we can coexist.  You are dreamy and unreachable; I am despondent and desperate. As you can see, we have absolutely nothing in common but we still managed to have our paths crossed.

I sighed and mouthed destiny.
You smiled and nodded as I looked away.

And for a moment, I thought I could reach you.

But as we interact and as we look at each other's twinkling eyes, I realized that your brightness wasn't meant for me just as my eyes twinkle solely because I see you.

Slowly, I realized that 'us' is an idea and it will remain as that. Because there is me when you are there but you can stand alone without me. I thought this was give and take. It looks like I gave too much because I never really had anything when you disappeared.

I can't really blame you for not loving me, right?

After all, it was me who only thought that we could be. I never thought that the probability of you and me to be 'us' is improbable.

You are slowly drifting away while I stayed put. Time is moving and mine froze because I stayed in our moments, in our memories and you walked forward leaving me behind.

I am lost while you found your way to happiness.

I am too focused on reaching you I didn't notice that you were slipping away from my grasp because in the first place, reaching you was impossible.

You are impossible.

Imagine the blue rose, the unattainable, the rare, the fabricated, the idea and the beautiful dream.

You are my blue rose.

I can't remember the term for that art in Japan where they glue together the broken pieces of a jar or a bowl (not sure about that either) with gold. It's broken, yet still beautiful. I guess this is how I'd describe this.
