You know that moment when he tells you he’s never going to lie to you, ever? Do you remember when all he could talk about was how honest he was to you? And all those times when he kept asking you to trust him and put your stupid heart in his hands?
Well, you shouldn’t have. That mistake was on you. The blame is on you. Not on anyone else but yourself.
He kept cheating on you because you allowed him to. He kept lying to you because you let him get away with it. He kept looking for someone else because you didn’t think you were good enough. And the trust he broke? That was on you too.
Every single time that he hurt you, you’re the one to be blamed for it. You let him in when nobody ever did before. You gave him the key to that sacred place inside you where no one else ever had been before. You gave him the power to hurt you. You allowed him to hurt you, more than anyone else.
This pain you’re experiencing right now is on you. If you had protected yourself and did not allow yourself to be used the way that he did, you wouldn’t be in this situation right now. If you hadn’t invested so much of yourself in him, in this sham of a relationship, your soul wouldn’t be as shattered as it is right now.
One look from him and you always get taken back in. Seriously, get ahold of yourself. All of this is just on you. Stop blaming him when all of this is just because of what you allowed him to do. He can only hurt you as much as you let him hurt you. So, snap out of it. Snap out of that stupid fairytale you’ve built up around yourself because in this story, the prince charming isn’t the villain. He’s the psycho you let into your house, princess. You’re the villain who allowed herself to be stomped upon by the psycho. You’re the one who gave him the knife which he used to stab your heart and soul with.
In this vicious fairytale, you’re the one to blame.
Astrid waited... and keeps on waiting. When will she learn that she isn't a priority?
