Jair Ventura Filho is a veteran football player. He trained with the youth division of the Botafogo club between 1959 and 1963. He transferred to the main team kickstarting his senior career. Jairzinho played for many clubs during his long career. After 13 seasons with Botafogo, he joined Marseille in 1974. One year later, he joined Kaizer Chiefs and was with the team for one season. The next two teams were Cruzeiro and Portuguesa. He was with each club for one season. Jairzinho was also a member of Noroeste, Fast Club, Jorge Wilstermann, and 9 de Octubre. He returned to Botafogo for one season before retiring in 1982. On an international level, he represented Brazil from 1964 until 1982. Jairzinho took part in the 1966, 1970, and 1974 World Cups. His career in football didn't stop when he retired. He became a manager for several clubs in Brazil and also in Japan and Saudi Arabia.
