You may wonder what's so special about a cup of coffee.. Coffee is Love, Coffee is Smile, Coffee is Drizzle, Coffee is Pain, Coffee is Life. A Coffee has the greatest philosophy of the life. The milk which is your entire life, will be bittered by some bad people just like the coffee powder, yet it'll be sweetened by some others like the sugar.
Hence I prefer at least two cups of coffee per day and at gloomy days the count may invariably increase upto ten. It was one such rainy day and I badly needed a coffee to satisfy my taste buds and my shivering body since I was completely drenched. Fortunately I found a new Cafeteria by that place and was waiting outside for my clothes to parch. A little later, a silhouette came behind the glass door of the Cafe and with a warm smile welcomed me inside. I occupied an empty chair at the corner of the shop so that I could survey things and men around me more clearly. The Silhouette now has become a clear image and he was a man of around 45. He continously smiled at everyone including me even though it didn't suit his tough physique. I wondered whether he had worn a mask because his smile didn't swerve even for a second.
The Cafe was full of men who were afraid of rain and shiver. There were three servers including the one who had received me. But the other two didn't seem amiable though they took up orders swiftly. The man with the smile, was a bit slow in taking up orders for he spent more time at each table that he had attended. Yes, everyone interacted with him and repaid his smile. All the regular customers of that shop loved him a lot. Hence I wanted him to come near me, to place my order and to initiate a talk. My taste buds badly needed the intense touch of a Maragaturra Arabica (a hybrid variety of Coffee). When I ordered that Maragaturra, the Man's smile got broadened like his eyes. I believed that there might be a secret behind his smile. It was so cold that I was rubbing my hands and even the hands of the clock were running to feel the warmth of each other. When he returned after 10 minutes he had my Love in his hands. Meanwhile, the shower of rain had ceased and the hydrophobics started leaving the cafe.
When he came near me there were hardly 3-4 people who were enjoying the mild music, the yellow light and the hot coffee. "You have a pleasant smile", I complimented. His Smile vanished all of a sudden and his eyes welled up. I was mystified and asked for his forgiveness for I feared that I've flawed.. He acknowledged me with a faint smile and the well of his eyes broke and it ran down his cheeks. Those eyes told me something which his lips intended to. He broke out, " This pleasant smile was presented by the time and the fate. I owned a coffee estate and I had many men to serve. I had everything — Wealth, health, affectionate family but not this smile". He paused to check whether I'm really interested or not. Once I nodded my head to acknowledge my patience, He continued, "I ran behind money for my dear wife and my beloved daughter. My daughter is a cardiac patient and I was ready to spend whatever I earned. Those work stress and some betrayals at business deals made me cold-hearted and I started shouting at every people who approached me. It was on one such day of downpour and anxiety I learned to approach others with a smile. It was raining cats and dogs and I was going through the weekly report of my business. My daughter had made a Coffee for me all by her own and when She approached me, she spilt some coffee on the report due to the concussion caused by a catastrophic thunderclap. I was infuriated and so I yelled at her on hearing which she collapsed of cardiac arrest and when she fell, a trauma threw her into coma. I've paid a huge sum to retrieve her and all I've got now is this Café. This smile has been fastened on my face since the day my daughter has recovered. I put an end to my anger which had killed many smiles and thanks for lending your ears..", He concluded with a consoled smile.
By then I've finished around 3 cups of coffee which he has managed to get simultaneously while he narrated his reason behind his smile. When my Heart and gut became heavy, I realised that I was the last customer at the Cafe. I handed him the bill amount with an affectionate hug. When I was about to leave, again his silhouette came running towards me, "My daughter loves Maragaturra", his words still echo behind my smile. Sometimes, Coffees are sweetened by the people who serve..!
