7 Steps To Being More Productive In Your Writing

The creative process is different for every writer, some are very organized and have a daily writing routine, and others only write when the muse speaks to them, but they all face the same factor: time. The hours seem to fly by when we are doing something we are passionate about, right?

Today we want to share some tips on how to be more productive in writing that has worked for me. Shall we get started?

Seven steps to being more productive in your writing.

#1 Find a place that inspires you.

As we mentioned earlier, every creative process is unique. There are many types of writers, those who write while listening to music, those who need absolute silence, those who can write anywhere and in any format (paper, computer, mobile phone), night owls, and those who prefer to get up early... If you are productive writing wherever and whenever congratulations,

We advise those who prefer to do it at home to have a comfortable chair, a desk that is at the right height, and a tidy environment that doesn't create any distractions. You can also go to a café if you feel more comfortable in the company. Or go to a park if you enjoy the outdoors.

#2 Write.

It will sound redundant, but to be more productive at writing you must write. You may not feel inspired, and you may not always be listening to those chattering voices in your head, but you've got a lot you want to say, right? So sit down and write down the ideas that are on your mind. They can be ideas or single sentences that will lead to a narrative or dialogue.

Don't pay too much attention to proofreading at this point, just write what comes to mind, you'll have time later to proofread. To get more out of your writing, you better use online writing software to write, organize and publish your content. Writing is like an organ that needs to be exercised, write daily and you will see how every day you will be more productive in your writing.

#3 Focus on one project at a time.

I'm sure there are many ideas floating around in your head, but to be more productive in your writing, it's best to focus on one project at a time. You can always write down those ideas you have so you don't forget them and can pick them up later when you have finished your previous project.

#4 Set yourself challenges.

Challenges inspire us to try harder. Set yourself a goal, and stipulate a date by which you want your manuscript to be finished, this will make you more consistent. Make sure it's a goal you can meet. If you are able to write two thousand words a day, for example, in one month you will have written sixty thousand words.

Your goal can be two months or more, it all depends on your writing pace, the important thing is that you meet those daily targets. You will see that you can be more productive in your writing by applying this method.

#5 Stipulate the time you are going to write.

It would be great to spend the whole day sitting down to write, we would love to, but the truth is that there are many other things we have to do that prevent us from fulfilling that dream. That's why it's important that you choose a time in your day to write. Even if it's just one, two, or three, you can afford it.

#6 Eliminate distractions to be more productive in your writing.

Procrastination is a huge time-eater. I'm guilty of staying on the net longer than we need to, which takes away from valuable writing time. If you're going to write, put away distractions. To save your time and efforts, you should start with a certain writing template that suits your writing. These days, there are many writing tools that offer writing templates for different themes.

7# Turn your phone off or put it on airplane mode.

If you are easily distracted by the voices around you, go somewhere quiet where you won't be interrupted.

Research everything you need to and disconnect from the net.
