Another Fairytale

Info

"And they lived happily ever after...." was hard for her to believe.

Lisa, the only daughter of the Hopkins was a quite kid. She was given all that a girl of her age could wish for, but something always bothered her. Her room was done up in pink, a big doll house on the left wall housed barbie, ken and their friends, in the middle two steps reached her huge bed, a white wooden door on the right side led to her walk-in wardrobe and shelves of fairy tales. She was a girl of 7 and all she could dream in the world, was there in her mansion.

She loved reading, because that is when she used to live. Her imaginations reached out through the pages to the world of Cinderella's and Rapunzel's... She had silently role played the secluded princess in a tall tower and also a girl who was tortured by her step mother. For her all was true till a point. Till the prince arrived in the story. She just couldn't  understand how is it always smiles in the end.

She had tried to see it from her parents perspective too. She knew that they were in love when they married, her nanny told her so. But how does "Happily ever after" work when she had always seen her parents fight. They all live in the same mansion, like all the prince and princess, kings and queens in her fairy tales but in different rooms. She always had different nannies but never saw her parents as she grew up.

The clock hands moved at its own pace, it time for high school for Lisa. For her high school was interesting only because of the vast library. She would sit there for hours.

One fine day, as she was sitting and reading, the mighty clock strikes 12... the beauty rushed towards the door with books in her arms and she slipped...the books flew in the air and she held her breath, closed her eyes ready to hit the marble floor... The cold floor never touched her, instead she fell into the arms of her beast.

Their eyes met and somewhere high up, the cupid smiled. At that moment, their fairy tale started which they were yet to discover.

"And they lived happily ever after...." was hard for her to believe ( at that point in time), because she was part of a perfect one.

With love,

Sanjukta.

We all want "happily ever after" endings, don't we? Those who get it are the luckiest people on earth. But it requires a whole new dimension of devotion, sacrifice and perseverance. Few have that.
Agreed...

Funny how similar our take is on such topics. By the way, do you think "Carpe diem" is the solution to reduce the pain of separation later? Just want your views, that's all. :)
No I do not think so, focusing on the present might create less problems but it cannot be a permanent solution. If there is problem in the present then future is the only hope. And looking forward to the future is ambition and it is motivation for the present.
