They say its not easy to find love. But I dont give a damn because I found you. I dont know what true love is or what it means to fall in love but just that one moment when you see someone, be with her for days, weeks, months and finally realize that she is your only ultimatum - your only purpose in life and rest all are fake - like crispy autumn leaves. I had always lived a desolate life - everything was there, money, comfort, a family yet an emptiness kept on tearing me apart from inside. I never told about it, to anyone, not even my close friends. I saw them hanging out with random girls and find new love every week. To them that was love, but I never understood the filthy business of breakup. It was my final year in college, and my exams had just ended. I saw them crying their hearts out, promising to stay in touch, but to me it did not matter. I preferred to spend some quality time with myself on the green bench corner and that was how it happened.
Her: Its so weird, how can boys cry like that?
I turned and found a stranger sitting beside me. Yes she was talking to me and just for the sake of being polite I had to respond.
Me: I never understand this, all the fake promises that they make.
Her:Soon it will be months and people would get busy in life, too busy to even remember each other. We both laughed at this.
Me:Which year are you in?
Her:Final year.
Me:Really? I have never seen you before.
Her:You dont seem to know too many people do you? She mocked.
I usually never got along with strangers but there we were. Two people discussing about their common views on the stupid actions happening in front of us.
Me: By the way I am Neel.
Her: I am Meghna.
Me: It was nice to meet you Meghna, would you like to go for a coffee - its too boring here.
Her: Thats a good idea rather than standing among my girls with all that crying and hugging.
Me: Even boys do it. - I couldn't help laughing and she joined me in.
We talked for a while, a lot infact. Its fascinating when you find your negative views on life which is not usually acceptable to others randomly matches with a stranger you have not even known more then a few minutes.
while we walked through Parkstreet to the metro station, we made fun of the random couples we saw on street, holding hands, being intimate.
Her: I dont even remember when was the last time that I laughed so hard.
Me: And you know whats the crazy part- that girl who was clinging on to the collar of her boyfriend like "Please love me. I will die if you dont."
She laughed harder and was almost going to fall had I not caught her.
Her: Seriously man, you are so mean. She was so cute and pityful.
Me: I had never been so frank with anybody like this before. I am glad that even I can make people laugh.
Her: So thats it. Two strangers meet up on the last day of college, have a great time and now time to say goodbye.
Me: Yes,it is. I smiled.
The train arrived five minutes late and there she was, bidding me a good bye.
"Time never stops for anyone"- that was all I realized at that point and some fanatic instinct took over me. I ran to catch the metro while the doors had already started to close. She looked at me bewildered, and the door closed itself between us. I said something, she said too but both were deaf. The train started to move and I had no way out but to laugh at my stupidity. It was too unexpected to belief and we would ever meet again, that two tracks so different, yet so alike were soon going to join together in this short course of life.
