Together Forever..

"Hi! You again.. We met the other day...."

"...I am all good. Thank you."

"Oh! I came to visit a friend, Harsha. I think I'm on the wrong floor. Anyways, how was the party then?"

"...Mhmm..... Oh! I met a girl at the party..."

"....My heart was thumping hard.  She was right in front of me and I'm frozen. She was talking to me and I couldn't hear. Sweat was dripping off of my face. I just stood there thinking, as fast as super computer, thinking of ways to impress her, of jokes to crack, of witty lines to say. But, as it turned out, I was simply thinking. My other senses just stopped working. I am not sure but I think she asked me something and I couldn't reply! Sigh!"

"Oh! I didn't tell you who she is......"

I'm Gautam. I write, for a living. I wrote romantic stories. I wrote good ones 'cause I was never in a real romantic relationship. That gave me all the innocence and hope, to write a beautiful story, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, but surely romantic.

"....She was wearing white yesterday, looking like an angel."

"...Yes! I have had a crush on her since the party."

Never did I think I would fall for someone. That too, I saw her for the first time and thud!!!!, I fell for her, just like in the movies. I started getting tensed. Would that put an end to my romantic writing, I feared.

"She was so beautiful. She is so beautiful!  A serene face.. She glows out of the calm of her face and the grace of her smile..... You should listen to her laugh! It's music for God's sake. I can go on and on and on about her."

"Not just that.. There's something attractive about her. I can feel a great human being inside. Kind, smart.... I can feel it."

      "....Are you sure?"

      "...What if she says no?"

I was in a fix. I think I'm in love with her. This is exactly how my characters felt in my stories. Well, now again, it's my own story and I'm playing the character.  But what if it doesn't turn out the way it's supposed to? I decided to write one last love story before meeting her again just in case it turns out bad. I sat and started writing. I started writing my own story. I wrote how I wanted it to be, with a happy end. I set out to meet her. I knew she worked on the floor above my publisher's office. I wore a casual suit and rushed, picked up a few lilies on the way, to her office. I paused for a moment to calm down. I got on the escalator. I found her walking towards the cafeteria. I held the lilies behind me and walked towards her. I was pretty sure she wouldn't remember me. All tensed, I walked up to her.

"Fine. I'll ask her....... Would you go out with me?"

She liked those lilies. A lot! I always give her lilies on our anniversary.

By the way, this is the story.
