This innocuous book came to my attention in 2005 and it has passed through my hands many times since. I'd no inclination to peruse its contents for I'd ceased to think in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was using all my energy to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a man as un-Godly as anyone could be.
In 2007, while packing some books as donations for a guide fair, my hand once more fell on "A Course in Miracles" ;.By now, I'd secured a divorce from my husband but was still dealing with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became very thoughtful and calm a course in miracles books. What was it concerning this book that invoked feelings I hadn't experienced in a very long time? My hand clung to the book refusing to put it down. Realizing that this is a sign that I'd better have a closer look, I made a cup of tea and sat in the best reading chair. With great curiosity, I dedicated to the blue hardcover and read "A Course in Miracles, a base for inner peace." Wow. Which was a pretty bold statement but okay, I made a decision to bite. Taking a deep breath, I pondered the absolute most obvious question: What IS the building blocks for inner peace? This book instantly opened a classic wound and it had better have the answer to healing.
"A Course in Miracles" is truly that, a course. Written in three parts, this book is never to be studied lightly and cannot be read in weekly or perhaps a month. There's text, a workbook for students and an information for teachers. I'd the sudden urge to fling the book across the area because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that after I started reading this book, I was going to have to change and was I ready for the journey ahead?
My personal favorite movie is "The Matrix" ;.The main character Neo is looking for the answer to the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he doesn't know what it is. The person with the answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and offers the opportunity for truth giving Neo an option between going for a blue pill or even a red pill. Take the blue pill and remain ignorant or take the red pill and find the answer to the matrix. Before he reaches for his pill of choice, Morpheus cautions Neo which should he pick the red pill, they can never go back to living he have been living.
"A Course in Miracles" could be the red pill. Do I read it and change everything I know about the planet and myself or do I take the blue pill and make "A Course in Miracles" book fair fodder?
As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 in the workbook for students and promptly read, "Nothing I see in this room means anything" ;.Oh dear. Can it be too late to take the blue pill?
Over 40 years back, a psychiatrist from Columbia University started to channel revelations from a spiritual entity that she was convinced was Jesus himself. She and her assistants produced teachings that filled countless empty pages over a period of seven years which later became "A Course In Miracles."
The psychologist was a Jewish lady named Helen Schucman, and she told people that Jesus Christ himself was her own spirit guide for these lessons and teachings a course in miracles books. These lessons were supposed to offer credence for individuals to discover that these were the only ones in control of their own feelings, attitudes, actions and destinies. The teachings took many penalties of actions from the equation. Indeed, a hallmark of the ACIM course is that evil itself doesn't exist. The ACIM teachings insist that by training your brain properly, you are able to learn that there's no such thing as evil, and so it is a perception or a thing that other folks have set around frighten and control those things and thoughts of those who find themselves not effective at thinking for themselves. ACIM insists that the thing that does exist is pure love and that innocent minds and spiritually right thinking will not allow anything like evil to exist.
These ideas and beliefs angered many those who belonged to some of the major faiths because, while they espoused many of the same principles, this course also sought to have people believe that evil is not real and therefore sin can also be not real. ACIM itself tries to have people rely on the sanctity of right and wise beliefs and behavior and in the truth that nothing can harm you if you don't believe so it can. New Age gurus were quick to understand onto these concepts because many of the New Age religions are based not on sin and redemption but the energy of one's own mind and spirit.
ACIM possesses some teachings about just how to rid yourself of angry and negative emotions which can be flooding your lifetime with problems and creating illness and unhappiness day by day. A Course In Miracles teaches you that you are responsible for these feelings and they're only hurting you. Therefore, it's your decision to rid them from your lifetime for your own personel happiness and prosperity.
