A Vile Thing

Have you ever wondered why all of the world's plagues and darkness were in Pandora's box, and why among all things, hope was one of them? It seemed foolish to do so -- to carelessly string the vileness and the heartaches with such a good and pure thing as hope. But in truth, perhaps hope is not so different from the former at all. Perhaps, because hoping is what gets a heart broken in the first place.
