Alone

I walked down the same path,

The one one which I've walked down a hundred times & more,

But today, I wander with no gentle hands for support

& no comforting eyes like before

For today, I am all Alone!

I have seen those sorrowful wet eyes

My parents, oh! they took them away,

and deserted me bewildered in white

in between the darkness I can see no more

& they say someone above chose my fate

Forever, like me to be all Alone!

I remember walking the same way,

stretching my lips in an honest smile

Unlike the one that I force today

when Ma & Pa hugged me for the last time

While my sight still yearns for those gentle hands

but none come forth for an orphaned lad

shedding the tears I didn't shed before

I Realize now that I will be all Alone!..
