Recently, American studies have shown that thinking you are ugly has a bad influence on your mood, on your thoughts, and also your body confidence; going to an exam and thinking you are not looking good, has a bad effects on your concentration; consequently you get a bad mark.
Unfortunately, with this big wave of fashion, people, teenagers especially care only about their appearance, which makes the value of the person built on the way he looks. Most of those criticizes, that push people to get mad of their looks, sometimes even worst, to hate themselves are negative.
Each one of us used to admire themselves in front of a mirror; when we were kids, we couldn’t stop kissing our reflections on the mirror, however, once we get to middle school, we start hearing bad judgments only about our physiques; we become so confused, we wonder if we are cute as our moms tell us every day before leaving home or we are ugly as the society said.
Rebecca, thirteen years old girl posted a video on YouTube, to ask people how she looks. Unfortunately, as usual most of those comments were negative; make Rebecca gets into a deep depression. Certainly, Rebecca is not the only person who would post such a video; there are thousands of teenagers who have the same case itself with varying degrees.
Many psychologists have found a huge relation between happiness and criticizing, the more people judge, the less happy they are. Psychoanalysts combine on one reason that makes society reprehend, which is to distract the majority, prevent others to judge them, and also to show they are vinegary of defaults.
A group of intellectual people and philosophers search for the greatest ways to stop this phenomenon to find three main and global thoughts that would certainly save humanity from dissociation due to this bad habit:
First of all, teach for body confidence, by integrating it in curriculums, or to make it as a subject which students could assist to increase their body-confidence. Secondly educate our sons and daughters to be better than role models, to show them there are many interesting field that should be focused on. Finally, learn how to work together, have a team spirit, and also be taught how to be team-leader.
Remember, that the way you look is only a part of your identity; there are many dimensions which people should focus on to criticize others, rather than determinate them for their appearances.
