Attracting foreign sports tourists: Taekwondowon starts in earnest

The number of foreign sports visitors to Taekwondowon has been on the rise, with Australian, French, and American taekwondo practitioners training and experiencing the sport at Taekwondowon and a Vietnamese sports tourism group visiting in May.

Starting with Australia, which visited Taekwondowon on Tuesday, trainees from France and the United States are participating in unique programs such as Healing Taekwondo Gymnastics, Taekwondo Healing Therapy, Taekwondo Drumming, and traditional martial arts training, along with training in Poomsae, self-defense, basic Taekwondo stances, kicking, and striking.

The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation provides customized programs to suit the level, personality, and training content of each group, including a dedicated manager and training instructor for each foreign group at the booking stage.

In particular, foreign trainees enjoy their free time during the night and early morning hours, walking around the Taekwondowon and visiting the traditional martial arts training center and the space dedicated to those who have made Taekwondo great. 스포츠토토 The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation has responded to these patterns of behavior by providing security patrols and outdoor lighting to ensure a safe training schedule.

"This time, I plan to visit Taekwondowon with about 40 people, including my disciples, and experience Taekwondowon's content," said Kim Do-woon, the director of Boston, USA, who arrived at Taekwondowon on the 12th. "In the evening, I will spend time in the nature of Taekwondowon with my disciples, touring every corner of Taekwondowon, taking pictures in beautiful places, and sharing stories about experiencing the content."

The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation is also working to attract sports tourism groups from other countries. Since May, one to two Vietnamese sports tourism teams, consisting of about 40 people per team, have been visiting Taekwondowon every week. The group is composed of tourists who have never practiced taekwondo before, and they will have various experiences based on taekwondo, such as practicing basic postures, visiting the National Taekwondo Museum, and watching permanent performances. The Taekwondo Promotion Foundation expects more than 2,000 visitors from Vietnam alone by the end of this year.

"We are working together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to attract sports tourists from overseas," said Lee Jong-gap, acting chairman of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation. "We will do our best to develop programs and stabilize operations so that more foreigners can visit Taekwondowon using taekwondo as a Korean Wave aid."
