In a closed door room he lays down looking at the ceiling. His thoughts are all over the place. He cannot focus on one point; or, he does not want to. He knows what is keeping him awake all night, but he fears making it a reality. Instead, he sleeps to take his mind of the pain it is causing him. But sleep does not help this time. He has been laying there for a dead hour and hasn’t slept for a second. He closes his eyes and the pain gets unbearable each time. He has pretended to be strong for weeks now; but this night, strong is not as accurate as adjective to describe him. His weakness comes from fear. His Achilles heel is his heart. He has a great body shape with full pack of abs, an educated mind with a library of knowledge as stored data, but also a deep cut in the center of his beating vital organ, which is keeping him awake tonight. His heart has been receiving signals which he cannot neglect. The strength of the signals differs from time to time in the day, but each night they get stronger. When he closes his eyes and admits the signals to his mind, he sees her face with an angelic smile. Alongside, he sees himself on the ground, weeping his heart out. So he looks at the ceiling for another long dead hour, until his brain can’t bear the pain and puts him into sleep, for one more night.
