Backseat

Info

Her face turned to a shade closer to red, as she looked at him with anger in her eye. He was busy making jokes about her with other friends. She smirked and stood up to leave. He held her hand, " Hey, wait! Will drop you!"

She sat in the backseat quietly, as her best friend in the city was giggling away with him. She looked into the mirror and caught a sight of him looking at her. She looked away in disgust. He was a stranger to her, her best friend Kristy's old time buddy. She had heard stories about him and had made up her mind not to meet him ever. But for the love of Kristy she had to meet him at the party that night. And her gut feeling of him being loud grew stronger, and she hated loud people.

She stepped out of the car and waved with a smile to Kristy,  she didn't even look at him. She entered her house and was going through her mails, when the door bell rang. With am expectation to see her landlord, who was capable of being a pain at that hour she opened the door with a smile. The smile evaporated as her eyes met his.

"How come you are here at this time? Is Kristy fine? Where is she?", she snapped.

" Drama queen...she is fine, I have dropped her home, just came back to say bye... That time you did not even look at me...now if you would just be a good host and make tea for me.." with this he shoved her aside and entered her house.

She was shocked, wide eyed she spat out," Hello Stranger!!! Where are you going..I don't even know you..am not gonna..."

"Green tea for me, no sugar..." he sat on the sofa.

She closed the door and stood there thinking of ways to get rid of him, and lastly decided to make him tea and finish it fast to get rid of him.

As she was making tea he stood behind her, after a long silence where only the cutlery spoke, he said, "Are you always so quite or is today a  special occasion?"

" Today's special!" came her crisp reply.

"Oh I see... get used to me!! I am not leaving you alone" he smiled.

Her face turned to a shade closer to red, as she looked up at him with tear in her eye. She had waited for a real long time to hear this from someone, but she never knew annoyance could lead to affection ever.

With love,

Sanjukta.
