Madison Square Garden

Venue nicknames: The Garden, MSG

Location: New York, N.Y.

Opened: 1968

A beacon of sports history lies in the middle of the city, which is perhaps the busiest in the world.

Madison Square Garden is commonly known as MSG or The Garden. It has hosted hundreds of hockey and basketball games and many other events.

The Garden is a landmark, regardless of whether the teams are good or not. It's also known as "The World's Most Famous Arena".

Venue nicknames: Colossus of Saint Ursula

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Opened: 1966

Azteca was established as a mecca for North American soccer. The first match saw a battle between Club America and Torino FC.

It is most well-known for its fanatical nature, as Landon Donovan, a former U.S. soccer player, can attest. The Estadio Azteca has a reputation for creating a hostile atmosphere for any sport. A 1993 boxing match between Julio Cesar Chavez and Greg Haugen saw record attendance, with 132,247 people.

The venue has hosted eight NFL games, two World Cups, and many concerts, including U2 and Michael Jackson.

Fenway Park

Venue nicknames: The Fens

Location: Boston, Mass.

Opened: 1912

Fenway Park is easily the most well-known and iconic baseball stadium in the entire world. It has a rich history that sets it apart from the 29 other teams in the sport.

Fenway's Green Monster, located in left field, is Fenway’s most distinctive trait. Fans who don't mind living on the edge now have seats atop it.

The stadium has been home to the Boston Red Sox for more than 100 years. They have played in some of the most memorable games in baseball history.

Fenway Park has hosted college and NHL football bowl games in recent years.

Wrigley Field

Venue nicknames: The Friendly Confines

Location: Chicago, Ill.

Opened: 1914

Wrigley Field is a famous American sporting venue because of its ivy-covered walls and rooftop home runs.

Wrigley, which is a few years older than Fenway Park and has been home to the Cubs since 1914, is well-known for its late adoption of lights. Before 1988 lights were installed, the first twilight match was played in 1943.

It has been home to World Series games but also the Chicago Bears from 1921-1970.

AT&T Stadium

Venue nicknames: Jerry World

Location: Arlington, Texas

Opened: 2009

The extravagant and enormous home of the Dallas Cowboys, which is estimated to cost close to $1.5 Billion, is a must-see for all sports fans.

Although the size is impressive, the cost and technology are top-notch.

The venue hosted Wrestlemania 32, which saw a reported attendance of 101,763.

Santiago Bernabéu Stadium

Venue nicknames: N/A

Location: Madrid, Spain

Opened: 1947

The Bernabeu, Europe's richest football club, is a magnificent display of Real Madrid's excellence.

You can take a tour of the stadium, including a walk on it, a visit to the locker room, and a look through the impressive display of former great players like Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as dozens of championship trophys.

AT&T Park

Venue nicknames: N/A

Location: San Francisco, Calif.

Opened: 2000

The City by the Bay has one of the most beautiful views in sports. It offers an excellent fan experience at AT&T Park, with local food and a great view of the water from almost every corner.

Barry Bonds made McCovey Cove famous by setting records for home runs in the area.

Even the Raiders have considered the possibility of making the park their home in 2019, before heading to Las Vegas.

Anfield

Venue nicknames: N/A

Location: Liverpool, England

Opened: 1884

Liverpool FC fans chant "You'll never walk alone" in Anfield as they have done for many decades.

It is easy to see the history of these grandstands and it evokes a sense of energy and emotion that is rare in today's sports.

Fenway Sports Group, new Liverpool owners, proposed the idea to renovate the 134-year old grounds. They were shocked by opposition from LFC purists and have embraced the project with child gloves.
