Black

It is said that if you wake up at mid night without any specific reasons, the probabilities are that someone is staring at you. For many these sayings would sound like an eternal rubbish, made to scare. But there does exist people who believe, who are scared. In this long span of life I had met many people, and thus I can tell you believers are rather more than non-believers. I am telling you all these because life does revolves around what you believe.

His name was Simon. I don't know his age but was surely not a grown up adult. Somewhat around 13 or 14. I know him because he used to live as my nearby neighbor. He were friends, until... until that happened.

Simon was quite a cheerful boy. It began by a change in this character. One day while recess, Simon was badly bullied, shifting all his cheerfulness into a strange heartbroken melancholy. After that he was never seen playing around with his friends, never and nowhere. He had locked himself in his room and seldom used to open the doors. When asked by his parents as to why he was doing all that the only answer that used to come from the other side of the wooden door was "Don't let it in."

For the first few weeks his parents couldn't think of what to do, until the condition started deteriorating as the child was no more coming out, not even for food. It looked as if he laid dead on the other side of the room, as not a single wave of sound could be heard from his room. Thus his parents decided to take a step. The step was to take him to a psychiatrist.

The door was never opened, but for Simon's own good it had to be broken. They dragged Simon to a psychiatrist, although he didn't had much of a soul left to fight. There was only one strange thing here, Simon's eyes were closed throughout the way to the psychiatrist, as if he wasn't ready to face the world. Then first session with the psychiatrist began. He was asked different questions, keeping the room dark. For that specific time Simon could only beg to turn the lights on, although nobody listened.

On the next day, the psychiatrist used a different technique. He kept the lights on as well as the windows open too. But as soon as Simon entered the room, the psychiatrist found him turning pale with fear eventually fainting. "It was minor seizure due to the over functioning of the brain" the psychiatrist told Simon's parents. Thus that day was over again, meanwhile, Simon's condition kept becoming worse.

On the next meeting, the psychiatrist took a closed but lighted room. He had a belief that Simon was not able to look at outside for some metal reasons. It was on that day Simon told everything to the psychiatrist, starting with his bullying... although ending with something totally different.

This meeting was recorded, and it was after the death of Simon and his parents that this record was found. In it Simon's voice could be heard clear, although the psychiatrist's voice had some disturbing changes. Something made his voice so coarse that it felt as if hundreds of humans were screaming. Although what Simon's voice said wasn't any less disturbing.

"It follows me. I see it everywhere. And I know it will kill me. It will kill everyone near me. It just is having fun, when times come it will kill all of us."

A pause then stroked, followed by a wave of screams.

"It came when I was thrown inside the Black room."

Another scream this time a short one.

"Nobody goes to black room. It is on the northern most side of our school, and no one dares enter. I have entered..." he voice trembled all the way.

"It is a monster. It watches me when I sleep. It watches me through the windows at night. I always keep them closed. It has even entered my house. One week ago, it entered when I was sleeping. I woke up and heard the clock strike 3 at night. I was sleeping with my parents. Then the door opened. On that darkness I could not see anything. The door opened. The door, moved, it moved... It moved slowly. Then it entered. It was black, I have seen it. I... I had... it had... I spotted it. It spotted me at smiled and hid at the back of our cupboard."

Another scream, the only difference this time being the pitch too high, so high that the officers investigating the death of Dr. Neilo the world famous psychiatrist, had to turn it the voice recorded off for some moment. Then it was fast forwarded a bit.

"That night. It was lying near me. The slight light from the window fell on its face. It was smiling. It had claws, I could feel it touching my body. It didn't had eyes though. Not even the slightest depression, it had a smile, it sure was smiling as it told me how he will kill my parents then a doctor that would be coming into my life and then me. It want to kill me."

After that there as a long silence. So long it was that the officers though the the cassette had ended, and had started to look at the files in which the psychiatrist had written about the deadly dual personality disorder that Simon had.

But then the recorder suddenly started emitting voices. The voice was a coarse one, one same like the psychiatrist, but was much more violent and angry. It said "I WILL BE COMING FOR YOU TOO".

Then the cassette ended, lying behind the dead bodies of the officers.
