Tears stream down the cheeks
Of the face behind the mask
She’s feeling broken inside,
But of course no one bothers to ask
A fake smile, a forced laugh,
A face that is sweetly smiling
But why can’t you see that it’s all just fake
‘Cause behind it she’s actually crying
More tears in her eyes with every “I’m fine.”
A knife to her heart with another “It’s okay.”
Her true feelings caged within its confines
With her utmost efforts to keep them at bay
No one could see her standing in the dark
Greatly broken and all alone
Tears in her eyes with her bleeding heart
Even though on her face happiness shown
And every single day she wonders in vain
Why no one can actually see
Her tainted heart and all of the pain
That’s hidden behind fake laughter and glee
She wanted an end to this numbing depression,
To the sadness she felt deep within
To every single one of her darkest thoughts
She had finally decided to give in
So there she stood in the dimly lit room
In her hands she held a blade
On her clothes a red stain had started to bloom
As she silently took her own life
But as the darkness took over she smiled
For her heart was finally at peace
As her blood pooled around her in the dark
She had finally found her release
Some of you'd say "That isn't the answer!"
And some of you'd think she wanted attention
But she was just human and you couldn't blame her
For every mistake and small imperfection.
But despite your coldness, despite this chill, I find myself burnt. Helplessly, utterly burnt.
