The Candlelight

Under the candlelight, tales were written,
Marking great legends' grand returns.
Under the candlelight, scriptures were writ,
By breaking stones, bit by bit.

The golden light illuminated the room,
And pushed back the neverending dark gloom.
It sparkled dutifully as the lord read his mail,
And to this day, never once has it failed.

Like the candle, burn to provide
Light to others; be their guide.
Shorten to length, dull to shine,
Burn to brighten, but remain mine.

And under the candlelight, masterpieces were born,
All because a length of wick and wax were worn.
