What is it that makes someone think they can get away with murder? That the deed is worth death or worse? What gives them the audacity to seriously consider committing a crime. What gives the criminal the right to deprive the victim of the right to live? And what can a witness say to justify his actions, or rather the lack of them? It all stems from our primitive education. Not of the sciences, but of the values. Friends, people of my generation, not older than twenty, perhaps it is time to think. To look at what we've been taught. To analyze and conclude whether any of this can prepare us for the horrors of the crime-stricken future we have the misfortune to inherit. Prepare yourselves. Cultivate compassion. Brace yourself. And please make sure the future of the future will be one worth waiting for.
