Confusion

She was all over the place

seen everywhere like a clutter

flustered most of the time,

waiting for some clarity to hit her

but she knew where her heart is.

not in one of her go to dingy bars

or in a coffee shop.

it was when she looked in your eyes

and got lured with the way you speak,

captivated with how you smile.

she wasn’t sure of everything

but she was,

I’m so certain,

sure of you.

until the confusion comes over,

took everything she thought conclusive

she was found only to be lost again.

and for the second time around,

she was all over the place again

tried searching in places where the clarity could hit her over

few smiles tried to captivate her,

looked into new set of eyes

and none was comparable to yours.

now, she’s stuck in a phase

she never thought she would come across with again

and now I learned why we search for people in the wrong places,

why we make up excuses just to show it doesn’t bother us anymore

faking it until we finally make it

because we thought we would.

but when you got someone under your skin,

it’ll be hard to brush off something enduringly etched

you can cover it underneath,

make yourself believe that it doesn’t exist

but it’s all written all over your entirety.

you could try, but you can’t erase something permanent

or at least, never let them be.
