He was waiting for her in the middle of very crowded auditorium. Light was dim and DJ was playing latest Bollywood remixes in the background. All his friends were grooving to the music but his eyes were glued towards the main door.
Suddenly, his facial expression changed as he saw her entering the hall. Happiness was clearly visible on his face and especially in his eyes. After all, she was the only reason he had agreed to attend the function.
He suddenly turned back, trying to hide his excitement from his friends. He started moving away from the dance floor as he was preparing himself to ask her for dance. Trying to gather all the guts and in between catching glimpse of her which would act as power booster for him.
While he was preparing himself, he saw a guy asking her for dance. Already with low confidence, this sight lowered his morale even further which made him decide, not to approach her in order to avoid rejection and public embarrassment for him.
He went towards the window and started staring out through the glass at the shiny stars. Suddenly, he felt a pat on his back. To his surprise, it was her. She was wearing all time pretty, cute smile on her face. While looking directly in his eyes she grabbed his hand. He was still dazed and was behaving as if he was confused; trying not to show the feeling of bliss in his behavior.
“Why are you standing alone here?” she questioned, looking directly into his eyes.
Instead of replying, he continued to look back into her eyes.
“See, DJ is playing such nice remixes” she said, looking at the dance floor.
This time he recollected of a guy who had asked her for dance. He tried searching him and found him trying his luck with another girl on the other side of the floor. She had refused that guy for him.
“Why are you looking here and there, when beautiful girl is standing in front of you?” she chuckled.
Going back to his objective, finally he decided himself to ask her for dance. While he was about to express his wish of dancing with her, she interrupted…
“Would you like to dance with me?” she asked blushingly, with those twinkling big eyes of her staring into his.
A lava of happiness exploded inside him as soon as he heard her. He smiled back subtly and immediately agreed.
She grabbed her hand and both of them started walking towards the dance floor. He was feeling very relaxed and happy. At the same time, DJ played remixed version of Tum Mile – title track from the film Tum Mile, as if destiny was giving him some hint.
While they danced, she looked at him and smiled in her conviction. He looked back at her and smiled in his anticipation.
