Day 4 the D-Day. All the files of the
candidates were compiled, completed and all
the test results were included in the dossier.At
last when all the files were completed , we
were sent to the President of AFCME.
They started conference from last chest no in a
reverse order. When chest no 25 came out from
the conference hall, I was sitting outside in a
chair and they took almost 15 min before calling
me in. I was prepared for the situations
(because I thought they are going to ask some
SRTs). After getting inside the conference
room, first questions which was asked to me by
my IO was-
Diwakar what exactly were you thinking outside
the conference hall? (Nothing came to my mind
at that moment and I directly said) Sir, I was
thinking about the situations which could be
possibly asked to me. Then he (my IO) asked
what situation you are expecting? I told them
some situation which were asked to my friends
during their conference and gave the solution to
them. Lastly he asked
me some formal questions and told me to keep
doing the hard work.
Then The President opened the Dozier and gave a looks to my medical reports. He told you have just cleared the dental points. And also there was minor issues
due to high freuency hearing loss..never mind..
My heart skipped a beat I thought my dream will remains a dream. Then he call me to open box which was kept in front of me. I opened and I saw there was badges stripes which Indian Airforce officer wears.He asked me what's missing in the box?.
I was literally blanked at that point of time I couldn't answer. The President started smiling and told the only thing which is missing is batch in which my name will be written. I got confused. And then he suddenly told Diwakar Kumar you have successfully cleared the afsb medical test. I was in cloud nine after hearing this. He shake hands with me told me to keep
doing the hard work. And wished me all the best for the final merit list which would come in the second week of December. While shaking hand he gave a pat on my shoulder and told he would love to see my name in merit list. Happily I came out with that box which was kept in front of me.
As soon as I came out the other candidates congratulated me. To give this good news to my parents as soon as I checked my phone I saw whatsapp message from my mom. I opened it and my joy knew no bounds as my mom sent me message and pics of my newly born niece who was born today at 9.18 am. Really this girl is Lakshmi and lucky for me. Because my conference was at 9.25am.
In our group some of the problem which caused
Other candidates to be declared TR(temporary unfit) were
fracture in spine, anemia, too much angle in
elbow, eyes sight problem. Since in every case
of TR you are given an opportunity to appear
before an Appeal Board. In this case you have
to submit application for Appeal to Air HQ and
then in a week or so you get the date to appear
for the Appeal Board in Army R& R Hospital. The staff at IAM hostel had taken care of our
stay their very well, we never missed our home.
We enjoyed our 4 days stay there.
Now I am eagerly waiting to come home and meet my niece.
