the dreamer

"She's a dreamer," they say. "She's the calm before the storm."

She stumbles on her past but hides from the future: the memories smother her want for acceptance and love.

She sees the simple beauty of life, but doesn't understand it: she wants them all to see this simplistic, beautiful life. She's naive.

She hopes and dreams for her life to get better, but is too scared of rejection: the bold step forward is never taken.

With a camera in hand and a song on her lips, she captures the beauty in life. The raw human emotion, the impact of rain upon water, the wind whistling through the leaves, fingers running over paper, eyes searching for love, lips hovering over coffee, barefooted innocence with dimpled smiles and wild curls, worn paddles cutting through water with quiet grace, the sun breaking through the clouds, the blood red moon, the rivers of soupy ice cream running down smiles, pages flying in the wind, the beautiful color reflected in eyes, age wrinkled foreheads, and the sun shining through the trees, marking a new day.

She hides the bitterness away in her heart, allowing it to eat her whole: she wants to let it all go.

She hides the regret and hurt, forcing laughter and silly faces:  it would be easier to just let it all go.

She hides the loss of friendship and memories, creating new ones instead: could she be letting it go?

She's in love with cities she's never been to, places she's never seen, people she's never met, roads she's never trod, aromas she's never smelt, sights she's never seen, books she's never read, and the love she's never felt.
