Embrace Openness

Why I love tonight's event ? ♥ and this is my kind of free verse poem for tonight. :)

I thought about not going to a birthday party because of the bad weather, and of being late already. But, still, I chose to go. So, when I arrived, it was kinda surprising that I wasn't feeling tired and uninterested. I like the setting even though it wasn't as elegant as what we expect from a debut party at a hotel. It was a birthday party in the house. My cousin, the debutant, wearing sleeves and shorts with sexy fishnet stockings. Crowded, seductive food at the table, some unfamiliar joyous faces in every corner, clicking to capture moments. I remained silent for a few minutes. My mother's attention wasn't at me but at those cute kids. Then, there was this pretty girl sitting next to where I intended to sit on, and as I was walking towards my seat, I incidentally stepped on her foot, said sorry for about two times with laughter and I even told her that I was about to stumble at an area where I made my plate plentiful. She was okay with it and laughed too. In the middle of dinner, we were not hearing anything from each other, yet I tried to start a conversation again since I felt like I was in the mood for talking by asking, "Are you a classmate of Keana?" and then she said, "No, I'm the sister of her childhood friend." And then, dead air again. Yes, small talk really happens. But, at that moment, this soul was reluctant to just sit and be silent. It was just, within: "Yes, you want to talk for a while, you can't just keep quite for an hour when you can somehow sense that someone who's beside you can listen to you, and will even give responses,or will share some of her experiences. So, talk even you know that you can get to be silly and senseful along the way". Afterwards, conversing had been interesting. I love it when I get to discover something amazing about someone. Don't we ? And yes ! She's not just pretty but she does gigs; flaunting her talent in singing. Whatever we shared, all those random thoughts just made the night well-spent, for me. We are just strangers at first, but we made a history that could repeat itself.
