"But you know what I remember the most? I remember that fear with which I slept everyday when I was a little kid. The origin of fear differed with each day but if there’s any emotion I have felt the most in my entire life, it is only fear and fear. Sometimes I feared my dad would run into an accident late at night, sometimes I fear he would come home drunk and create a ruckus, sometimes I feared mom would go wrong and they’d fight again, sometimes I feared they’d divorce, sometimes I feared my mom would kill herself, sometimes I feared I’d not find my dad at the place where he slept, sometimes I feared an earthquake. Whenever I used to watch a horror movie, I would wonder how can the protagonist check who is making noise at the hall even though it looks scary to even step out of the blanket. The protagonist is always the gutsy hero who brings chaos for himself. But now I understand why it’s important to check the halls when there’s noise. It is so that you can sleep at peace. I waited till the time I heard my dad’s car getting parked downstairs so that I could sleep in peace. I watched my mom and dad fight and intervened to only quieten my mom only to reassure the fight is over. I wanted to sleep in peace like any other 8 years old girl. "
