I would like to start with a premise- This article says nothing against women or any individual's right to equality but it is a mere reflection of misconceived idea of feminism in today's world.
Women all across the world have been suppressed from ages and it is still prevalent in our society in one or the other form. This gave rise to the idea of feminism where women fight against inequality on the basis of gender.
Unfortunately, the idea of feminism is being practiced in deformity and it has somehow become a fight against the other gender. The purpose of this article is to reinstate the idea that feminism is a journey to attain equality and this journey is to be taken by both genders hand in hand.
What if I say that even men suffer because of gender inequality?? I know this idea might sound absurd to many but I request you to read further.
In a world where a female is not expected to work and let go her career for a "home sweet home", there is a male who is supposed to be the bread earner of the house without fail. For every female who "should" learn cooking, there is a male who is considered "not masculine enough" if he enjoys homemaking better than a corporate job. For every girl who is told to wear "decent" clothes, there is a man who is expected to be a masculine protector of his woman.
The inequality on the basis of gender is not hurting women only but men as well and it has to be fought by both the genders working in harmony.
