The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the consumer protection agency of the US government. They provide a great deal of information about securities and offerings for public scrutiny. This award is given out by stockbrokers to individuals who have done a particularly good job with their clients in a very short period of time. The person who receives this award can receive a cash bonus or a share of stock if the company the stockbroker works for does very well. The award comes from the profits of the company. The best way to accomplish this task is through trading stocks. The Brokerage and Exchange Association (BEA) gives out the trophy for the top performing stockbrokers in the country.
Every year they have a competition in which the best stockbrokers in the country are given an award. In some cases, these awards are given out in a ceremony at an airport. The awards come from various companies and organizations. They are the largest of all.
A few of these include naming a company after a person. An example of this would be naming a company after the stockbroker that helped a company obtain a tremendous amount of financial help. Another example would be naming a company after the stockbroker that helped develop a new software program for a specific financial company. These are just two of the many awards that are given out each year.
Another award, which is given each year is the Best Market Sales Performance Award. This is given to a brokerage firm that has done an outstanding job of developing a new market or helping to promote a new brokerage firm in the market. In other words the market performance award is given out for a specific reason like helping new clients to find their brokerage firms. The reasons for the awards can range from helping a specific company to grow into a large firm, to increasing a brokerage firm's profitability.
The Biggest Breakthrough award is given out each year to the individual brokerage firm that had the greatest impact on the profitability of a company or an individual stock. For instance, if a brokerage firm was responsible for the development of a new software program it could receive this award. An individual that helped a new company improve their sales would receive this award. A great deal of creativity is put into these awards. It could be based on creativity or on an ability that the individual had to develop a new marketing plan for a particular company.
Many of the bigger awards such as these will be given out at an award banquet rather than a seminar or conference. The banquet tends to be more relaxed and much more fun. You might think that getting an award from a conference is not only more formal but also that you would have a much easier time getting a job after receiving one of these awards.
These awards are usually given out to a specific individual or a set of individuals. The individual award is usually given to the top performing brokerage or investor. It could be an individual that closed a new account with a great deal of clientele or an individual that turned a loss into a profit. These awards can be given to employees that have excelled in their duties. Many of these awards are presented in front of other employees during an individual service day. It is rare that an individual who receives an award from a brokerage firm will get an individual service day, however it does happen from time to time.
