Goodbye Letter from my Father

"There will come a time when one day you will become a soldier like me. The whole world is a warzone, not just in deserts or in countries where there are more bullets than persons in the streets. Sweetheart, life itself is war, and so is love. If you are reading this letter, that means I won't be there anymore to protect you from the bad guys. Of course, I can't let my baby girl go out there empty-handed. I will tell you about the war you will soon have to face: love. Once you begin to fall for a person, you could almost never tell if he's an enemy or an ally. There will be no warning signs. He could be an oasis in a vast desert, a paradise in dystopia, but for all we know, he could be a minefield full of landmines ready to explode with just one wrong step. What I need you to do is remember the most important thing I taught: slow down. Don't run and rush for love. Instead, make sure each step you take will lead you to the safezone."
