In the English language, love is definitely an abstract noun. It is a concept or idea we cannot see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. It exists only in our minds. But all of this changed when love came to me with a lopsided grin and blue eyes. Love has a deep sexy voice that can lull me to sleep. It tells me bedtime stories of its childhood, reads me poems while I lay my head on its lap, and whispers me words of encouragement on a bad day. Love sometimes smells of mint, beer and cigarettes, but most of the time it's breakfast, coffee, and home. I can hold love's hands, caress its face, and I can even feel its warm embrace. Love's touch makes me feel safe. Love's kisses tastes sweeter than all the chocolates combined and it's addicting. Love tastes like heaven when we make love.
Love doesn't only exists in my mind anymore. Love used to be abstract until it breathes the same air I'm breathing. It now exists in a person I can see, hear, smell, touch and taste. Love is now concrete. Love is now real.
