Google Maps adds 'speed alerts' on the routes

According to The Verge news site, Google's digital map app has long been accused of missing an important piece of information, which is vehicle speed limits in digital maps, a feature that already exists. in some other digital mapping applications.

However, to improve and increase competitiveness, Google Maps (the version for the two main operating systems is iOS and Android) has finally added this feature from January 20.

Accordingly, information about the maximum speed of vehicles related to each route will be displayed in a corner of the application interface, and there is also an icon showing the location of the speed monitoring camera on the route.

According to the news site Mashable, drivers using Google Maps will receive a voice notification from the app when they enter a speed-controlled area.

This feature-updated version of Google Maps is currently rolling out in Denmark, the UK and the US. Meanwhile, camera icons are also being rolled out in countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, UK and the US.

With Google's rapid development, it can be predicted that this feature will soon be replicated in the Google Maps version in the rest of the world.

Google started testing the feature in 2016, and has made it available in select regions such as San Francisco in the US and Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.
