Gravity loves me

While Kareena Kapoor says that Rujuta Diwekar is the best thing to have happened to her life, I’m still debating with my self to whether or not give this book a read. I’m talking about the book authored by Rujuta Diwekar, ‘Don’t lose your mind, lose your weight’. This post isn't any prejudice-filled preview to the book, I’m sure it’ll be a great read. Now getting to the point, I’m that average teenager with those extra kilos, and with 1 month of vacation remaining, I decided to pay my good old aerobics class a visit about a week ago. You see after having slogged an year in law school, two months of vacation was meant to spent by rolling in the bed, late breakfasts (which I fancily call brunches), a ton of light movies, and some lazy reads. But, sadly or not, this happy routine has blessed me with some more of that unwanted extra fat. So yes, I decided to rejoin aerobics classes after a break of a year and a half. My first class was daunting, for two reasons, one because I couldn’t recognize any of the faces present there and two because they were oh-so-serious at the task. Aerobics is ‘dance as exercise’ is what I had thought, however it didn’t seem like I’d have many supporters, as the only ‘fun’, ‘light’ thing that may have happened that day is how I tripped on the step and missed a beat and stood grinning like a fool. I come home with cramps in every inch of my body and as I allow the couch to cushion my involuntary fall, I watch an ad dedicated to women and fitness and I think couldn’t agree more. The V step…the grapevine… the double step… what am I even doing here?! Today’s class was perhaps the toughest. After 40 minutes of workout it was time for some exercise and today’s trainer loves throwing challenges that most of us fail at. It was time for some pushups, to be precise about 30 pushups, not much. I barely managed to do 4 when he added a ‘little’ twist, one had to push oneself up then lift their left hand up then drop, right hand up and drop, ending with another push. That terrible exercise left me hugging the floor after 2 awful attempts. I sit up on my folded legs, panting like a pug after a 200 meter walk, and I look around to see my ‘companions’. I realize they’ve turned hostile when I see them do a 5, then a 10, then a slow 13, then our trainer decides to takes pity at us and says ‘change’. Phew! He throws a stern look at me and says, “You’re doing 50 of these”, and I think to myself, “heh! You wish!” That’s day 7 for you guys. Hopefully, my second stint in aerobics lives a little longer than the earlier one, and shows results in a more obvious manner because this girl doesn’t want to remain ‘cuuggly-boogly’ forever.

P.S: Didn't know which category this falls in, hence 'something else'. Hope you have a good read
