It was a lovely day to start writing again. The past months seem to drain me, emotionally. There are times where I couldn't control my joy, my energy were up on top then suddenly, it will burst down. I felt love and unsaid good byes. All this troubles created stories -- my stories.
1. What inspires you to write?
Basically, everything inspires me to write, but not everything motivates me. I mean, there are subjects that can inspire me or make me think of an idea or story line to make a story but it doesn't motivates me to put that thought in to actions. When I said 'things' that motivates me, I'm reffering to the things, including people/places, that are left behind. Some things that don't receive much attention.
2. What are you most afraid of?
I would give everything I have just to avoid being numb. Like, not feeling anything because you are used to pain. I really don't want to be, like a walking body without a soul. I mean, emotions are the root of all things. Love, passion, empathy, -- writing -- everything are tied to our emotions and I would choose death rather than being numb.
Does my fear of worms counts? Lol.
3. Do you remember the first story/poem you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I was on grade 6 when I finished a whole book. It was a kind of mystery book for children enititled The Mystery Under the May-apple by Mary Pope Osborne. I actually borrowed that from my classmate then later on, he gave it to me as a gift because I let him copy some of my answers during a test. lol.
That time, I can't believe I really did sneak to get a flashlight just to finish the book. I remember, I was on the rising action part and I can't wait for tomorrow, I'm really hooked with the whole plot.
Now, I don't see the story itself to bring some life-changing lessons (maybe because it's for children and I'm not a child anymore). But what impacts me is the big picture of me, finishing a book. It's a great thing because, I got hooked then after that I got inspired to write my own. That book and my whole time reading it is the very root of my writing journey.
4. What is your favourite writing genre and why do you like it?
I love writing fiction stories about life, love and how ones mind works when having a difficult times. I love discussing the options and choices of people during a problem-solving situations. Because I really do want to understand people, like, there are people who looks bad for us for being selfish but he have another things to consider that's why he's like that. In my stories, I tried and will always try hard to discuss about different point of views.
5. Tell us about your writing process and the way you brainstorm story ideas.
In brainstorming new ideas, I seldomly obligates or push myself to write a new story. I don't want to pressure myself because a good piece requires time and willingness. What if I'm not in the mood? what if I'm too occupied with other stuffs? The result will not be good and it will just frustrates me, so I avoid that.
The only time where I will push myself is when I have a good idea and a nice plot (even though it's not clear to me yet). I can't afford to forget such a good piece.
New ideas comes -- uhm, unexpectedly, whenever, wherever.
My writing process is a mess, lol. I'm not really sure if I have a certain process in writing. ^_^V
6. Who/what inspires you to write?
Like in the first question, everything inspires me to write.
7. What's the one thing you always wanted to ask a stranger who read your story?
I didn't think about this but when I let my friends and some fellow writers to read my works, I always asked them if they felt my stories. Emotions are very important to me because it's like a bridge from me to my readers
