Hide and Seek

There she was, sitting, silent. Everyone always thinks she is insane, and she is starting to think so too. Her mind is a paradox, full of these impossible worlds. Future, present, past, it's all there, spinning and spinning.

She should write her dreams, her mother says. These were full of mysteries unsolved, fantasies, questions unanswered. "Maybe my mind is trying to tell me something" she tought. What could it be? In her dreams she was always looking for something or someone of vital importance, however she always fails. Who is it? What is it?

It is a message, she decided.

One day she had this dream, as real as the air she breaths. She and six other teenagers were kidnapped, and locked in a cage at an abandoned warehouse. The cage was just beside the first floor stair. There was this tall man, with black hair and beard, his eyes were death. He was killing one by one of them in the most horrible way. She could hear their screams coming from a dirty room right in front of them.

There was only five of them left.

She was desperate. " I am going to die" she tought. Something needed to be done, she was too young to die. No one should die in such an terrifying way. He came again. His face covered in blood.

There was four of them left.

Time was running out. This time the man made a mistake: he left the cage unlocked. While he was in the dirty room and the screams began again, she opened the cage's door. "Let's stay alive." she said to the others. And then she ran.

Outside it was day. The sky was grey, it was cold. They were all running. Running for their life, running for their future. As soon as they left the warehouse, he was chasing after them. She saw the madness in his eyes, the message they carried were clear. They kept running.

They reached a park. People were walking peacefully, and seemed to not see them, or hear their desperate call for help. She kept running.

Something pushed her violently towards the ground. She was turned around.

It was him.

His face inches apart from hers, blood dripping on her. Hot, fresh. He had a sick smile, a cold look.

Everything went black. Now she was sitted in a bench, in a park. Besides her there was a man in a overcoat, with a black hat. They were both looking at the lake in front of them. This single drop of water came slowly from the sky above. She looked as it fell. The drop of water touched her forehead and slowly disappeared. “What is this?” she asked. The man looked at her. It was him. The same man. He smiled.

“You should wake up”
