His Oh-So Perfect Imperfections

Info
This piece is dedicated to my love, the constant factor in my ever-changing dramatic life. The little things he does, the unseen gestures, have changed me. And I know, that he'll love me so till time goes on.

Not so long ago, there lived a girl. A very complicated simple girl. She laughed and she cried, she was distraught and bright. She loved and cared, but something inside her lived in despair.

She moved from one place to another, running and hiding, changing her pace with perfect timing. She never let anyone catch her, for she was an island, and would always be. For some who came a bit too near, she would run away again, faster and faster, leaving them behind, so that they wouldn't dare.

Then he came along one fine day. She was taken by surprise by the sheer simplicity of his being. It was love at first sight. His presence had made her come running back. He had taken a step towards her, reassured her that he was there. But she knew it couldn't be done. She couldn't turn back. She had to leave. She couldn't destroy him too, that would be mean.

She ran for a while and decided to stop, take a break and let her heart repair, for she knew she wouldn't see him again. But to her surprise, he was already by her side. Is this real? Has someone finally cared? She saw his face, the warmth he carried brought tears to her eyes. He had come to get her. How could this be, how could he pursue her when she had gone, ran away from him.

He took her hand and dragged her close. Her heartbeat had never been so fast. He looked into her eyes and said, "I Love You, You're My life". Those three simple words, broke through her walls. She let herself free for she had found someone who would let her be.

He carried her all the way back home, their home he called it, their sanctuary from the world outside. He looked after her, gave her the time. He built her back piece by piece, gluing them together by the immense love they shared. She had done it, she had found him, she had found the reason of her existence. It was him, just him and no one else. And she knew, he was hers and she was his; today, tomorrow, forever.
