Hold your own

Sometimes, humans can feel connected to you.

Once that happens trying to maintain distance and keeping yourself behind a certain boundary might seem difficult.

Do you feel the same?

You don't give them your all, but you've been at their side and know how it could shatter you if the other person suddenly disappears from your life. It keeps you from cutting them off. So why do you feel something right, even when it seems to be wrong ?

Maybe the sense of empathy is so strong within that every other emotion takes a backseat. You want to be there for people. You're not obligated to do that but something in you doesn't allow you to run. You've this habit of staying put. Maybe if you run fast enough you'd able to leave everything and everyone behind.

But can you?

You're a lazy stroller. When so many things go on in your head, you forget you have to move.

You're like the colour black. Whenever someone shares with you the sadness of life, you absorb it. It just starts to add to your inherent sadness and people leave.

You would stop them if you cared right?

It's paradoxical how that care lets you think it's okay to set them free.

You're cold. The cold can still everything. Isn't stillness what everyone is searching for?

But stillness can be scary. It can make you hear yourself.

Hearing yourself can mean finding yourself.

Sometimes, staying lost with others is easier.

But you don't always have to take the easy way out.

Know that, if you continue to be you, it'll all work out in the end.

To live in the world, means to be with people yet hold your own.

Get lost alone, and be found.
