Hope

The whole family was at a shock when the sudden and inappropriate death of Jonathan Gareth blew by. As old as he was, they all agreed something was off about the accident. It didn't sound natural, especially for the fact that John had never been as clumsy as to slip in a bathtub filled with water while the electronic shaving machine was still plugged into the socket.

His death, as much as it was painful to a lot of them, wasn't far from a gift to others. Him being gone meant the roots of his leading company in the field of business was no longer intact, leaving no more than one choice for the family to save the empire he had put his life and soul into throughout his entire life. Somebody needed to carry on their legacy, but they couldn't quite put their finger on who that significant person could possibly be.

As the oldest male child, David B. Gareth was meant to be the legal heir to his father's professional position. However, after a few bad experiences and as the feeling of guilt towards his family began to seep into his soul, he turned the offer away ultimately, leaving the decision into the hands of his twenty-two-year-old sister; the notorious Rosaline Gareth.

Rosaline was never the one for business. With her sharp tongue and snarky attitude, she couldn't even keep anyone around her for more than five days. Let alone rule a whole company. She had always hated her father's passion for his job, as it was the major reason for her strained relationship with her brother. Growing up, Jonathan had fed his son up with stories that made him think of nothing more than his degree and his job. In his eyes, there was nothing else worthy enough of his attention and devotion. Therefore, she had vowed it to herself to never interfere with anything related to business. That had been until fate decided to put her in a spot that she couldn't say no to. Just then, she had to think of another alternative as quickly as humanly possible.

Growing up, Rosaline had always had her eyes set on one person, and one person only. It was her cousin, Joseph R. Gareth that had caught her attention from the very beginning. If not for the troubled past linking his side of the family, they would have probably been married by then. The light of a bulb flickered in her mind before she decided it was in her best to use her father's death as an excuse to bring the families back together as one. By using a little bit of her charm, it wouldn't be that hard to get him infatuated. After all, how could he resist the temptation of the position he had always dreamed of since he was able to read the alphabets? Who could possibly be a better leader to her father's company than the person who had been striving for that spot from the start?

I just wanted to clarify something for the new readers who haven't been following the series from the start. This book might not have a very spiritual hold to it, but the plot is centered around a convert family of Muslims who have had strong roots to the United States. Joseph is, in fact, the translated version of an Arabic name: Yusef. Rosaline is derived from the word Rose, which is the English for Zahraa. David is English for Dawood and Jonathan is English for Yunos.
