आज उधर वो कब्र खोद रहा था

भरपेट निवाले की आस जो बंधी थी

गरीबी भी कैसी अजब शै है

When someone dies
तो किसी के घर का चूल्हा जलता है
So the house stove burns
भूखे गिद्धों सी ज़िन्दगी
Life like starving vultures
लाशों की तलाश में भटकती है
Wanders in search of corpses
पेट की आग में झुलस कर
रह गई है इंसानियत
Humanity has been burnt
In the fire of starving stomachs
चूल्हे में आग जल सके
To light fire in the stove
इसलिये चिता सुलग रही है
Thats why creamation is taking place
रूदाली नये ढब से रोने का
उपक्रम ढूँढ रही हैं
Rudalies are looking new ways to cry
शायद अफसोस का कोई
नया ढंग ढूँढ रही हैं
Looking for new ventures to express griefs
अच्छे से रोने का अच्छा पैसा
It will fetch good money if cries well
कहाँ रोज रोज कोई मरता है
Where rich people dies everyday
जिन्दगी महंगी हो चली है
Life has become too expensive
और जान सस्ती बहुत सस्ती
And the living beings so affordable
