I Couldn’t Say Goodbye

As I stand here gazing up at the stars
And hearing the noise of the trucks and cars
I remember the time that we spent alone
In a great deal of bliss in moments called our own

I remember every time you told me you loved me
I remember every hug, and second you made me happy
I remember your laugh that sounded ever so sweet
I remember your smile every time I eat

I remember kissing you whenever I woke up
I recall those mornings when I drink from my cup
And then I remember, those moments are gone
I’m here by myself, unable to move on

The day I lost you was a sick joke of fate
That painful day is a memory I’ll always hate
The day that you had joined the angels in the sky
And I didn’t even get a chance, to say goodbye
