I want you
With my cup of tea
I want you
Everywhere I see
I want you
In my wishful reverie
I want you
When silence speaks for me.
In the latest novel of Kundera
In an umpteenth treat of Tagore
In a poem I barely understand
But somehow I crave for more;
The good old tunes of Don Mclean
When Rahman makes my heart sing
or Burman brings the retro back
The radio plays my favourite track
I want you,
The times I beg and pray,
The times I wail in pain,
The times the lion inside me roars,
The times my strength gets devoured,
I want you.
When I stand up for my right
When I stay up through the night
When I dance, happy and relieved
When I look for a reason to live
I want you.
The dream of a true democracy
The fight to chance the society
The struggle through this confusing time
The strive to gain equality;
In my protests and rebellion
In the inprobability of my passion
In war and in peace
In Syria and in Greece
When my heart and mind
Fall in skirmish
You are the truce
Hence I want you
And I want you.
