''Either Engineering or Medicine. Choose one''.That's what my society offered me after I finished High School. Either our way or the highway. I decided to stand up to that gassed-up society and its messed-up will. I chose Translation studies. The moment I told them that, flares of anger and jealousy started swarming me. Anger because I was brave enough to tell them that am breaking a 1000-year-old curse. Jealous because they don't own the same individual mins that I have.
Our society has so many doctors and engineers that some of them actually either work as taxi drivers or at a supermarket. Some of them remain unemployed for years before they could find a job that is not even suitable for their degree.
Our societies hate seeing us achieve and reach places they didn't think of reaching.
I refused to listen to them and I listened to me, to the inner voice that was telling me to fight those on the outside.
My greatest asset is that I was able to leave the flock and start following my own footsteps not these of others.
