In Her Dreams

As I close my eyes tonight

I silently utter a wish

That once again

You'll visit me in my dreams

The only place I want to be

For in there I get to look you in the eye

Without thinking of what will be

Only living in the moment of you and me

As I go in deeper

I get to see

The beauty of you and me

Ah, I feel so happy

Pictures of us start to bloom

Colors popping on canvas

With no hands of a painter

Only sleight of truth

We walk in that familiar street

Enjoying the scent of the after-rain

You hold my warm hand

Saying it's okay with a smile

Laughing with no care

Hearts alight in giddiness

You tell me of your favorite memories

Without holding back, you do

Then you'll call me by my name

It sounds all too pure and sweet

I take in a deep breath

Taking it all in me

Carrying the smell of your cologne

The sound of your gentle voice

The feel of your hand in mine

The warmth of your soul

Before the blinding light comes

One last look of the painting

Dreams don't last long

The nightmare always creeps in

As I open my eyes

I silently utter a wish

That once again

I'll forget the nightmare of reality
