I saw you today; inside the office, in the locker area and outside the building. You still look dashing wearing all black from shirt, pants, to shoes, and the long sleeves I've always loved, though it was green this time. Your big, round eyes still look like the sunset, inviting me to stay for another beautiful night. I heard your voice, too, and it was nostalgic. I even hid somewhere just to listen more of it but your teammate caught me. We even nearly bumped into each other but I was too quick to not let it happen.
Having you near made me too clumsy and forgetful about everything around. I was ecstatic the whole time so in return, I couldn't do things the right way.
I know you saw me, and I also know that everything isn't the same anymore, so I understand that you couldn't even say Hi. Before I went away, you were with your friends talking and laughing. You seemed fine; maybe I should be too.
And so I walked away from where you were, knowing you noticed me walking away but so sure you wouldn't come after.
You never did.
With a heavy heart, I woke up.
It's about time to wake up from a dream I cannot keep.
You.
