It's gotta be you

She's waiting for her friends in a coffee shop near the Church where her friends attended a mass and since she's jetlag it's fine with her too.

"Love, let's buy a dozen of them."

She looked at the couple in front of her. She cant hide her smile when she heard their conversation.

"Babe, you can't eat all that. "

"Oh I can." said the man

"Love, that's too much donut. Let's just buy half a dozen then a loaf of bread."

The man sighed in surrender and agreed. The woman kissed the man on the cheek and whisper something on his ear that seems lightens the man's mood because he's smiling from ear to ear. It's so cute she just can't help but smile at them. You can really see that they both love each other.

If this was her scene years ago she'd probably rolled her eyes looking at the couple but right now she find it as the simple act of compromising and it reminds her of someone. Their relationship was just like the couple she saw earlier. Simple but you can see their love by just looking at them. It's hard to find something like that these days. Thinking back she knew she really tried her best to save the relationship but there are just moments that are meant to happened. He was still the only person who really broken down her walls and she doesn't regret anything. Loving that person made her the person she is today. Now she wonders if how is he doing today. She have no news about him and sometimes it's better that way but there are just times that she can't help but to think about him. Maybe because they have so many memories or he was all her firsts.

Her thoughts was cut off when she heard a ping on her phone.

It was from her friends saying that the mass just ended and they will meet outside so she hurriedly grab her coffee and start to hit reply when she hit a big wall---

"I am so sorry. Are you okay Miss?" her heart skipped a beat. That's the voice that she will always remember even with her eyes close.

She slowly lift her eyes and she's not mistaken. A pair of dark brown eyes greeted her. It is him.

"I'm really sorry I spilled coffee on your shirt." she said guilty looking at the stain on his polo shirt.

"Hey relax.It is fine I wasn't looking either."he reassured.

"No let me buy you shirt or is there any laundry shop here that is open?" she's rattled alright? She saw her ex boyfriend after 2 years and she spilled coffee on him that is not a good way to meet your ex.

"Relax. I told you It's fine. I just gonna grab a coffee and go home anyway."

"Let me just buy you a coffee then." she insisted. He shrugged and smiled at her. "As long as you stop saying sorry."

He guided her to line to order coffee. It is now packed with people, maybe because the mass just ended.

"You're here for vacation?" he asked

She nodded. "Yeah just a couple of days."

"Oh.That's great. For christmas?"

"Yeah. My parents decided to celebrate Christmas here."

"That's good to hear. How are you by the way? I saw your picture when you graduated your Master's Degree.Great job."

He saw her pictures? Is he stalking her profile ? or he just saw it on his news feed? Anyway, It doesn't matter she does not want to deal with that thought.

"I'm working in a hospital now it's a bit hectic but

overall I'm doing good. How about you?" she asked.

"I'm doing okay still into computer stuff." She smiled and said "That is good to hear."

How awkward is this right now? They are acting like strangers. It's uncomfortable but what should she expect? It should be uncomfortable. They're ex lovers they have memories, they both loved each other once upon a time.

She can smell his familiar scent and the aroma of the coffee. She can feel the pound of her heartbeat . The crowded place seems like its muted. All her senses was just focused on him. Until the waiter asked their order

"What can I get you?"

"Do you still like the Caramel Macchiato?"

"I'll have the americano." she answers.

He looked shocked but he orders it anyway.

While waiting for their coffee he asked "So americano huh?"

"Yeah. It's for my acid reflux since I got hospitalized the doctor advised me to only drink Americano."

"You got hospitalized? Is it before or after we---"

"It's before."

"Before? Why didn't you tell me?"

"It was the time when you're dealing with something too."

"But you should've told me----" He didn't finish what he was suppose to say when their orders arrived. She heard him sighed and took their coffee.

When they both got out in the coffee shop holding their coffee. He looked at her and said.

"Hey I know we already talked about it but I just wanted to say I am really sorry for what I did to hurt you. It was selfish and immature of me."

She smiled. "It's all in the past we both have our faults in the relationship but it was a good one."

He shake his head and she can see the regret in his eyes. "No,it was the best I ever had. "

She don't know what to reply so instead she said "It was so nice to see you again."

He smiled at her and said. "Me too. I'll see you again tomorrow?"

With a knotted forehead she asked. "What do you mean by that?"

"Fate gave me another chance to see you again. I can't just waste it. I have fair share of regrets I dont want this to be one."
