Jacinth from the Bottomless Pit

“Papa what is death?” asked by her daughter innocently. The father gently rub her back and answered “Death dear is something everyone deserves but definitely at your young age it is something you’re not supposed to experience.”

“Then why is it coming after me?” His daughter followed up. The father keeps his mouth shut, look at her lovingly and kiss her forehead.

The daughter is confused and curious so she asked other people about death but was given the same answers…

“It is something that you can’t fight back or defeat.” Said by her neighbor

“It is something that takes your everything.” Answered by her aunt

“It is a huge darkness that no one can escape.” Replied by her grandfather

The daughter was determined to fight back so she indulge herself in learning self-defense such as "Judo and Arnis" thinking that if she will beat up Mr. Death. It will go away. She excelled in class and engages herself and became the top of the class hoping that if she earns the respect of Mr. Death it will stop chasing her and would let her go. But as she grew up she learned the real name behind death she thought that it’s like a bottomless pit and she is the jacinth that no matter what she do she won’t be able to stop from falling and dying.

She became desperate and lonely the moment her age increases she has to let go of the things she love to the point she gave up love and herself. She became empty, apathetic and a loser. Her father blamed himself but she never did. She started to get scared not because she won’t be able to walk on earth but because of the tears and grief she will cause to the people around her.

She held on to the belief that if her heart would beat to its rightful owner it will keep on beating and she can keep on living.
