Prologue:
Isang balita ang gumulantang sa aming lahat ngayong araw. Ito ay ang pagkamatay ng CEO ng Welch Mart Corporation na si Barry Welch.
Siya ay ang aking foster father. He adopted me when I was 11 years old nung makita niya akong pagala-gala sa kalsada at walang mapuntahan. He treated me as a real son. Pinag-aral niya ako at hindi niya ako trinato na outsider sa pamilya. That's why now, isa na rin akong Welch.
I have a brother, with same age as mine. We're both 26 years old. I am grateful because like his father, never niyang pinaramdam na adopted lang ako. He treats me like a real brother.
Siya ang nagbalita sa nangyari kay Dad.
I've been staying in America for 14 years now. I was 12 years old when Dad brought me here. And all I did was to study and study and study!
Last week was my graduation for the fourth course I took up and that was criminal investigation and self-defense. Kasama ko pa nun si Matt at si Dad.
The first two courses were business administration both bachelor and masters degree, and the third was law.
These courses weren't my choice. It's my Dad's because he believes that these can help the company. Through these, I can assist my brother someday when he took over the company. It's the least I can do for the acceptance Dad has given to me. It's my benefit after all. Along the way, I learned to embrace these professions.
I'm supposed to be enjoying the victory for my graduation but the news had made me forget all my achievements.
Now, I'm on the airport and I'm on my way back to the Philippines. I want to be there in this crisis and see if I could help.
"I think this is the right time for you to come back," these were the words spoken by Matt before he hang up the phone after telling the bad news.
No more second thought, I booked my flight back to the Philippines.
And this is how my journey as an investigator started in the field of business!
