Lafora’s Disease

I got a glimpse of darkness

in the flickering of lights

and stared at its deceitful rays

til they consume my sight.

A kaleidoscope of black and white

obscured my vision;

blind but still hearing

the screams of aggravation

and cries of frustration.

Cold sweat slowly dripping

as I felt an earthquake

within me, and all around me

hearing broken whispers

of worries and self-pity.

My body crashed in waves of blood,

numbing me to the core,

yet still enduring the pain.

I wailed myself into oblivion,

enduring the agony of this vision,

closing the windows of my soul,

fainting with pain that no one could console.
